Hey guys my 775 gaming rig has died and I want to upgrade to an i5 based system. What are the differences between`the 84watt 22nm Haswell chips becuase as far as I can tell looking at intel's comparison PDF chart they only differ in on-die graphics speed.

Am I correct in thinking the on-die graphics is useless for gamers that have a dedicated graphics card, and if so would any of the 84watt haswell i5 chips be identical in terms of processing speed?

Great thanks for clearing that up for me. Another question, though. I keep reading comments about Ivy Bridge being better than Haswell in terms of energy efficiency, lower power draw, less hot, ect. Would it be worth looking at ebay for a nice quick Ivy Bridge i5 chip, instead?

I'd really go for the haswell chip, you won't gain anything substantial when going for the Ivy.
Ivy's i5 tdp is lower, true, 77w vs 84w, but if you want to overclock you will need an aftermarket cooler anyway, if not, the standard one will generally be sufficient.

On the other hand, if you want a higher overclock(extreme >4.5 ghz) you might be better off getting the ivy bridge, since haswell integrated vr seems to interfere with overclocking a bit-i'd not be concerned about that though.
However, the max stable clock rate you can get depends on the cpu you get(same model) so it's gonna be a cointoss.
You can get a 4670k that oc's to 4.6ghz, or one that can't go above 4.2.
I hope this helps, -i'm a terrible explainer.

For me, the only difference between the ivy 3570k and the haswell 4670k is that the way the cpu cover is on the haswell chip, it makes it not cool as well. There is a gap in between the cpu and it's cover on the haswell chip whereas with the ivy chip, the cpu is in contact with the cover so more heat transfers out. For stock clocks, i'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference though.
