Hello, I am going to be building a budget gaming PC and I was wondering what was better a i3 4130 or a FX 6300. I will be playing BF4 and the newer games that are out there. And the i3 may be dual core but it does have hyper threading. So what would be better? They are both about the same price but the 6300 is a bit cheaper. And if you guys know another CPU that is better and around the same price or lower of these CPU's, let me know! And the cpu's will be running with a gtx 650ti GPU. Thanks!

If you are planning on Overclocking, Don't even think about the i3. If not, they are both almost equal.
I am running a fx6300 with a radeon r9 270 and having no problems in BF4!

The FX is going to be the safer purchase for you. It's cheaper and performs just as good in most games, better in the few that are optimized for plenty of threads.

In my experience Intel is not worth it unless you're going for an i5. But once your cross that price for an i5, there isn't a reason to go AMD. This is all in the perspective of gaming.

At $190 a piece, it's pretty tempting to stay with AMD and go for a beefier graphics card a lot of the time.

Yeah you guys are right, and I will not be OCing at all. I may later on but thats WAY later on. But I will be using the stock coolers on them. And also with crossing the price with the i5, I think AMD is still pretty good. I have an FX 8350 with a gtx 670 and they both kick butt! But if I was asked to get either a i5 4670k or a fx 8350, I would most likely say the i5 just bc it performs better in SOME games than the 8350. But I mostly game on BF4 so I guess AMD is they way to go. But you guys are sure the 6300 would be better?

If not overclocking it is a better choice!

Wait, why would the i3 be better in the long run? I thought since the 6300 has six cores it would be better in the long run?

the i3 uses less power, so in the long run it would be cheaper than the fx6300. But i wouldn't worry about that

Yeah, I dont really about the power consumption that the CPU's take. All I worry about is how well they perform in applications and games that I play.

So the FX 6300 would be the best choice for my type of gaming? And do you guys know if there are any other CPU's maybe that are a bit cheaper and MAYBE perform a bit better? Or is the 6300 the way to go? t
