NOTE: I don't know what's the official definition of "BOOT", if there is one, but I'm referring to the time between the BIOS start and until the desktop shows up).
This is a new computer build
Windows 8.1 PRO 64BIT, on a (new, like the rest) Samsung EVO 840 120GB SSD.
You know the Winows 8 spinning wheel when Windows is loading? Well after I got done with the installation, the next few system reboots, I noticed the wheel made 1 cycle before showing showing the desktop. I don't know exactly when, but after installing some of my programs, drivers, softwares, etc - the wheel now makes 5 cycles before showing the desktop.
At first I suspected it was the statup programs, but I thought it is unlikely, seeing how they start loading AFTER the desktop is up, but I went to Task Manager and removed them from the startup, nevertheless, for the sake of testing - and I wasn't shocked to find out that the number of cycles remained the same - 5.
Now I'm asking myself what could be the reason.. Is it normal? because I am familiar with this, but with my older machine (the previous one) - after formatting, etc etc. This is my first SSD so I can't really tell if it's normal.. but I'd very much like to get back to a less-cycle-boot =[
Any help will be appreciated, either solving the issue (if it is an issue indeed), or pointing out the reason.
