Right now, I can run Bioshock Infinite at Ultra 1280x768 at an average at 80 frames. However, I am planning on buying a monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080. I know that resolution makes your frame rate lower, but I want to know how much it will affect my FPS.

tldr: I'm changing from a 720p monitor to a 1080p monitor. How much will my FPS drop?

Solution
A fair bit. I did the same a while ago. I had a GTX 660 3GB running Bioshock Infinite at 120fps no issues. I got the 1080p monitor and it went down to about 80fps. Not a problem on a 60Hz monitor but in your case it could be. In the end, a game looks great running at 720p on a 720p display and 1080p on a 1080p display. What looks awful is when a game runs at lower res than the monitor/TV. So I wouldn't recommend switching monitor in your case unless you have the funds to swap out the GPU as well.

Hope this helps :D

So I shouldn't get a new monitor if I don't get a new graphics card? Will my graphics card really not be able to handle it?
