Hey guys,
I am hoping you will be able to help me with my dilemma. I have been googling around for the past week trying to find the perfect laptop but with no success. I feel a bit lost.

I am looking for a new laptop, preferably under or around the $1000 range, an absolute max would be $1,300

My Life Style:
This laptop will be mostly used on the go, for school, traveling, when i don't want to work on my desktop, etc.
I work with Photoshop a lot as I am a photographer and graphic designer. I also occasionally work with video editing software such as Sony Vegas and After effects. I listen to music a lot, stream countless movies and videos on a regular basis. I will do 99% of my gaming on my desktop of course though I would like to be able to run some of the shitty games I play with little lag (I have noticed that this is a far fetched request and is not a requirement)

Requirements:
- Works for my lifestyle as above mentioned
- A decent processor (I still want something about 1.6 GHz and as good as you can get for an ultrabook)
- 4GB Ram +
- Preferably a SSD hardrive (at least 250GB)
- Under 4 pounds
- Nice design
- 6+ hours of battery life

Contenders:
- MacBook Air 2013
- Dell XPS 13
- Samsung Series 7 Ultra
- Song Vaio Pro 13
- Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus
- Ace Aspire S7
- Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro
- Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13

Please note I am not the biggest fan of MACs, so buying the MacBook Air would only happen if it is truly my best options.

Please give me some advice! Which is the best laptop for my lifestyle? What is the best windows laptop out there right now?

Picking the MacBook Air is my last choice, if I cannot find anything else that works just as well or better on the windows end.

Thanks for the suggestions! The first one looks promising, the second is a bit too heavy for what I am looking for since I will be lugging this thing around me everywhere + a Canon T3i + my books, etc.

What are your thoughts on the ones I have listed so far?

Thank you for all your suggestions, many are promising but I still havent found one that has all I want. An i7 processor, at least 4GB of ram (6 or 8 would be ideal but I know its going to cost more), under 4 pounds and 255GB SSD is really what im looking for specs wise. Anyone know of any?

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for helping me search, it seems we are both coming up with the same options. This is one of them and so is your other post. Refurbished and open box items are a bit concerning though...

Has everything I want, except that I only buy directly from amazon on newegg. I've learned that the hard way, so I don't buy from other sellers anymore.

all of these are reaching your max budget limit although if you want to spend that much i recommend the acer travelmate as it has 256 gb ssd and 8 gigs of ram with WINDOWS 7 which is so much better than 8.Go for that.I personally never liked or heard of acer performing well... Good luck with the acer.It has the best specs of them all although......
