Hi,
I am trying to build myself a custom gaming PC to replace my current laptop (which I try play high end games on but fail horribly). I aim for a budget of under $1,000 NZD but I don't mind spending a little bit more to get what I need.

I have two games which I want this system to be able to play on high graphics. WatchDogs (http://store.steampowered.com/app/243470/) and DayZ (http://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/).

My cousin recently built a PC with your help for the same price and he can play these games on high. I compiled a list of components which I like and think will work for what I want, but I'm not sure if they are enough. I don't know whether they are compatible with each other. Also, what is the best way to get these components? I live in Wellington, New Zealand.

List (links to pricespy):

- CPU: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1379853

- Other CPU (Can't decide between them): http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1462290

- Motherboard: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=913235

- Hard Drive: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1282059

- GPU: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1408211

- Other GPU (Can't decide again lol): http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2266020

- RAM (Two of these): http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1298905

- Case: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2112250

- PSU: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=790828&o=ftg_betyg

Am I missing anything?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks, Liam.

What is mantle? Does this graphics card look okay?

Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB Video Card ($279.95 @ Computer Lounge)

Are there any graphics cards for the same price that will beat this in terms of; noise level, speed, and reliability?

The card in the review is a R7 265. you right.

But you should get the r9 270 for $280 at http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/

check out their SHIPPING INFO:

"If you choose the 'Free Shipping' option under the 'Courier Options Page' your order will be delivered free within the North and South Island of New Zealand on a Computer Lounge preferred courier, which is supported by the local courier network."

Thanks so much man, I really appreciate it :D

Is the card you are talking about (the R9 270 2GB) the one you listed under the parts list you gave me originally? (http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr927oc2gd)

Somebody in a Twitch stream for DayZ while I was there suggested I went with one of the GTX 700 series GPU's. Is this necessary, or even worth it?

The GTX770 is a great video card. Its worth for its price range. And your CPU (FX-6300) can handle it.
Can you play DayZ with R9 270? Sure. You saw in the link i gave you before that inferior video cards can play it.
But GTX770 will give you a better experience for sure. Can you spend the extra cash? its up to you.

Check out this. Its great information for your decision:

I found this card but I don't know how good it is. Is it better than the R9 270? I mean it is the 'X' version right? http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2266020

Also could you tell me which is better out of this as well.

http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1413793

If you could just compare these two and the R9 270 that is all I need.

Thanks for helping me out man, I really appreciate it.

Sapphire Radeon HD7950 Flex OC With Boost HDMI Dual-DisplayPort Dual-DVI 3GB is the strongest. Now it is called R9 280.

Its now R7 265 < R9 270 < R9 270x < R9 280.

Before was HD 7850 < HD 7870 < HD 7950.

New names, old chips, still very good. :)
