In the past couple weeks my computer has been exhibiting odd problems. It all began right after I installed AVG to do a scan I thought was unnecessary (and proved to be so when it found nothing) then I removed it through the device manager using its removal program. Since then whenever I try high bandwidth demand actions the computer will crash. 3 times it has gone BSOD and twice the screen has simply gone black and I have to do a force shut down. Any advice on how to solve this crashing issue? I am a novice when it comes to software side of computers but I did build this machine with help. Its running Windows 7 64 Ultimate on an AMD FX 8120 with 8 gigs ram and I am getting 3.10 ghz out of her and uses 550 and a 660 ti for graphics. Also using wireless usb adapter to access internet via wireless.

Problems occurred while trying to access internet while playing online games twice...starting a steam download while browsing the internet the next time, and I cannot recall the first occurrence.

reinstall AVG and then use programs and features in control panel to uninstall it

And then get a better antivirus . If you dont want to pay then AVAST is the best you can get
