seagate pipeline hd .2 1tb hard drive

hi, i got a 1tb hdd from an old sky box but it wont work on any computer, ive got 4 500g ones the exact same except the storage capacity and they just needed formatted but when i plug the 1tb one in it makes the noise but doesnt appear onscreen. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thx

it shows up in device management and disk management.

right click my computer/manage/disk management , can u see the 1tb drive in there ?
if you can see it there right click on it and select change drive letter and paths

it shows up but it says not initatialized and it wont let me change the drive letter

not really i was just wanting it to upgrade my storage space. when i right click on it it says initialize disk and then you must initialize a disk before logical disk manager can access it and it gives 2 options. they are MBR (master boot record) and GPT (guid partition table)

then you can format/ initialize that hdd in disk management and it will be ready for you to use

ntfs m8 and you will be able to use it straight away
