My GTX 750 ti isn't working. Where is the issue, my old motherboard? my psu? the card?

Hello :)

I have bought a MSI GTX 750 ti but when i'm installing it on my computer (based on a motherboard Gigabyte ga-ma785gmt-ud2h rev 1.1, roughly 4 years old, from the generation of Athlon X2), the PC is starting (no beep sounds, etc.), but I don’t have any image.

A few more details:
- I've tested with another pci-e card, an ATI Radeon X1650, and it's booting.
- The motherboard has the latest bios, the F10 beta. The previous one is the F9.
- The fans of the GTX are turning. (this could mean that the card is alimented?)
- The PSU was extracted from a HP computer, it's 300 watts, without interrupter, 24pins/4pins (while my motherboard is 8 pins for the CPU), no pins for graphic cards (but the MSI hasn't one), only SATA plugs.
- Some SATA cables are hindering the insertion of the GTX. With some management and compressing, Nonetheless, it seems the card is well inserted as i hear the "click sound" of the pci-e slot switch.
- The GTX is brand new, without any apparent burn, etc.

So, in your opinion, what's the issue? Is my motherboard too old and there's a problem of compatibility? My PSU is too weak? My motherboard's BIOS or its settings aren't right? Another thing?

Thanks for your help :)

PS to the moderator: i've posted a different thread but with the same purpose on the motherboard side. Accidentally i hit the "consider this as a solution" button so it's considered as solve whereas my problem is still here. Please leave this one. Thanks.

Without your new video card installed boot your system into safe mode uninstall your old drivers and then install the latest drivers not from nvidia, but from evga. After that look on your motherboard manufactures website for a bios update for your motherboard, fallow their instructions. after that reboot and you should see the card booting up and working properly

thanks for your answer. What do you mean "system info safe mode", you mean windows or the bios? I can't even access my bios when the card is plugged, the PC is on but the screen has no signal.

Did you plug the dvi cable straight into the graphics card? It's important you don't plug it into the motherboard if you have a graphics card plugged in. That was my problem, quick and easy fix!
