Hi All,

I can't seem to find any heatsink sets for the kraken g10 set up, so I've now moved on to arctic Cooling solutions. I've come across two but there doesn't seem to be many reviews based on the 290x and I'm worried in case these don't cool the VRM's properly.

So there's this one which I'd prefer simply because it's liquid cooled.

ARCTIC Accelero Hybrid II-120

And there's

ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV

Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

Lmao, thanks I was out so I never had a chance to choose the best answer. But anyway Thank you for your help Rob, I went ahead and purchased the Corsair h75 because the price difference wasn't too much and it already has a push pull configuration. In regards to the Aluminium heatsinks they seem fine, but I've been having a real good mooch on other forums with threads relating to VRM setups. It seems that you can gain substantial reductions in heat if you use certain heat sinks over others. For example copper heat sinks tends to be better, but also a chap used a long L shaped heatsink on the VRM's that produce the most heat and got some ridiculously low temperatures which is what I'd like to do if possible.

But roll on Kraken and H75 in a few days :)

Yeah I was lucky on my card it had a huge VRM heatsink slaped over all of them, so I only had to use them little heatsinks for the vram chips, but go with whatever you think is better. It helps aswell if your case has good airflow too.

Let us know how it goes with the 290x, ill be interested in the results.

ps. once you have fitted it all in the case, check the tightness of the thumb screws that hold the h75 to the card.

Thanks again Rob, I'll double check the thumb screws for the h75 when at the end :).. And you lucky specimen ;) what 290x did you have with that nice big heatsink on? the amount of effort it is to get a good VRM heat sink is ridiculous.. well actually it's mainly a fuss because the bloody parts aren't in the UK so there's like 3 week waiting periods lol. And as for noise rob I've never really been bothered to be honest, I've got this old house fan blowing in my case right now and I can even tolerate that lol.

But thanks again for your input, any other little things you can think of let me know, it's greatly appreciated. I'll definitely do some updates about this upgrade and do before and after results. But I don't think it will be quite finished until I get these VRM heatsinks :)

I was waiting for the 800 series but wanted to test out the kraken g10 so put it on this gtx 660 out of an alienware system. Turns out this OEM version has the same sort of GPU as the gtx 760 not the 660 retail. Anyway, turns out with good cooling and BIOS tweeking it over clocks really well; I've got +500mhz on the GPU and +1400mhz on the vram and still only hits 47'c Max :D
