Hello! My name is Kostas and I want to ask a question regarding my GA-EP45-UD3LR motherboard and GTX750 Ti 2GD5/OC that I want to upgrade my graphics card to from my GTS250.
My question is will the GTX750 (PCI-e 3.0) work with my motherboard (PCI-e 2.0 slot)?

Solution

Yes PCI gen 3 is backwards compatible with PCI gen 2. You can confirm this by going to the specific website of your gpu manufacturer and in the specs of the card it should say in compatibility, something like "backwards compatible with pci 2.0). But don't worry, should be fine.

Hope this helps!

Totally agree, I've not done a lot of a research but the general consensus is you will barely see a performance hit if at all as well so I wouldn't worry about. Upgrade!
