Hey can I ask what is the best GPU for BF4? PS I play at 1440x900 res.

Specs are:
Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2ghz
8GB RAM
GTX 650

Why am I upgrading? It lags even in the lowest settings with no AA. This happens:
when I reach 70 fps, it suddenly goes down to 53 and then 2 and it's stuck for 3-10 seconds.

My average FPS that i get is 47 though.

It's also funny. why? I play Crysis 3 at medium settings with 2x MSAA and the lowest that i get 33 FPS and the max is 95.

The problem doesn't seem to be with your GPU. If your BF4 is fully updated to the latest version then, either the problem is with your power supply, or something (CPU, GPU or PSU) is getting too hot in your system and causing the slow down.

I'd just bet on the shitty optimization of BF4. I once met a guy in-game who said he was playing with an i7 and a GTX 780 and he still had horrible fps drops no matter what settings he used.

I'm in my own predicament at the moment, but till shed some light that will hopefully steer you in the right direction till a genius answers.
Bro thats actually good fps for that card lol.

Get 16gb 1600mhz ram.(game will only ever use this and no more) Better to underclock some 1833 than use overclocked 1333.
Even if you have a gtx 650TI 2gb it sucks, If yours can SLI do it. Two gtx 650 is almost like a 770(from memory)
If possible get a gtx 780 6gb when they come out and watercool / oc it. Don't get a TI its just an OC 780.

Upgrade your quad to an 8 core soon to.

Your mobo is probably not limiting you but it may be.

Please do some research before confusing people. The GTX 650 is not SLI compatible.

And how do you know games will never use more than 16GB? We are continuously advancing and there's no telling if games use over 100GB of memory in a few decades.

Also, motherboards don't have an effect on fps. They either work or they don't, the extra price of better motherboards comes from different features like SLI and overclocking.

Knowing EA's less than stellar track record, it is indeed a possibility that shitty optimization is the culprit in this case :). The BF franchise died to me after 2142, when "Call of Battlefield 3" came out :(.

i also have one thing to ask, if bf4 lags to me in the lowest settings, how come that i can max out bf3 and my nfs rivals? minimum fps is 34 and the max fps that i get is 102 (almost the same for the two) and the average is 54 fps. :pt1cable:

I suppose then it is most likely as Eduello said earlier - poor optimization. How old is the 650W PSU, and what brand is it?

well the psu is just a generic one, you know, the one that's bundled with the case? well it's 7 months old including the rest of the specs.
