Gaming enthusiast, what's wrong with my build and what do I need to upgrade?

The power supply is 1100 although the exact model escapes me. And the GPU model is 6970 iirc.

I game on 1920x1080 and can't get past medium-highish settings without AA on most games.

I'm one of those people that can't stand when your framerate drops below 60 and even in Red Faction: Guerrilla when an explosion comes up I drop below 60 fps, and that's a 5 year old game.

I'd also like to buy a GeForce GTX 760 - 2 GB gpu in the future but is it actually better than my card, and if so would it fit in with my mobo or would I need a new mobo?

So what's wrong about the build, what do I need to upgrade to say run Assassins Creed IV (example) on maximum settings at 60 fps?

Hi. You are running 1333Mhz Memory and you can run 1600 Mhz without Overclocking it. The other thing is that youir Video card is getting a bit long in the tooth and an upgrade would help. If you can, a good choice would be the 770.

Are you referring to the RAM? If that's the case, how could I achieve so?

Also the 770 is around 300$ where I live as opposed to the GTX 760 which is around 200$. 300$ is a bit outside my range..

The 760 would be a good upgrade and I just threw the 770 out there as an option. I was referring to the RAM. It is always best to run as much as the board will support natively ( In this case it is 1600 Mhz ). As to whether or not there is a performance difference between the 1333 Mhz and 1600 Mhz, yes, there is. Whether or not you will visibly notice it, maybe not, but it will be very obvious in benchmarks.

Your graphics card only has 1 gb of memory. In most games @1080p ultra will need at least 2gb for it not to be limited. I have the same problem with my 560 gtx. The other problem may be that AMD never optimized their hardware to run on that title.

When the 760 gtx is compared to the 6970 (i assume it is the 2gb version). It is better as shown here:

Anandtech bench will allow you to compare performance from all these video cards so that you can see what GPU best fits your needs.
