First time build here, the price range being $1500. Any veterans care to point out anything wrong or absurdly expensive? Any good recommendations for the mobo, PSU, or case? Thanks in advance for helping a new guy.

Solution
it is a revision of your build, with better price/performance parts selection
cheaper but better mobo with 12 phase vrm
ddr3 1600MHz
cheaper but popular SSD, 240GB
better PSU
better monitor, 24" 2ms gaming from asus

Solution
MEM - Change those DDR3-1333 modules to DDR3-1600 CL8 (or CL7) 1.5v modules.
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/memory/#s=301600&Z=8192002&L=30,80&sort=a10

PSU - Good choice, but at $90 there are gold rated units...
The 750w is the same cost as the 650w unit => http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-hx750

SSD - Something to consider... The Crucial M500 240GB is $120. You really aren't giving up much performance, but gaining double the space.

Enjoy that rig!!
