I just bought a Corsair Vengeance 2100 headset and plugged it into the charger till it was showing fully green but now that I plugged in the wireless USB adapter it seems to not make any sound, when I check the sound volume down at right bottom corner, the frequency is going up and down when I'm playing a youtube video, etc.

Solution
Try specifying the headset as your sound device rather than leaving it to default. I know my headset seems to work better, generally, if I have it specifically set as the output device.

Also make sure your USB port is plugged in on the inside of the case (if you are using front ports), they are left unplugged or come loose more often than you think. May also try a different port, like perhaps the one your mouse or keyboard uses to ensure it isn't a port issue.

Driver software installed for this headset? I don't have that headset but if it take specific drivers that might be the issue.

On board sound? Try disabling it in the BIOS, sometimes on board sound will do weird things to other sound devices. It's jealousy I think...

Hope this...

Just for anyone who might experience this too: I had the same problem. Everything seemed to be working: driver installed fine, blue LED on the receiver always-on, and the volume meter of the Vengeance 2100 (listed as Vengeance 2100 Headset, but under Speakers, oddly) gave a signal. No sound. Since I had a Vengeance 2000 I checked if anything was left in the registry et al after uninstalling its driver and software. Several restarts and reinstalls of the 2100 drivers and software, still nothing.

Then I swapped the receiver from my (powered) USB hub to a front internal port on the PC and after another restart it worked perfectly!

The 2000 never had this issue on the hub, but hey ho: it works.
