If you want to upgrade the CPU it wont fit in the motherboard because the motherboard is different socket ( i think it is 775 ) and also 6300 doesnt support DDR2 RAM. If you want to upgrade the processor you have to upgrade the motherboard to a AM3+ socket, upgrade the ram to DDR3, and make sure that your case fits that motherboard ( if your motherboard is ATX make sure that it will fit in the case ).
For 300$ you can get a pretty good upgrade and then save some money for a better GPU if its a gaming PC
He was just joking, there is no CHANCE to bottleneck with that old GPU. Also if you want to get better gaming performance, you should upgrade your GPU too . Also what kind of motherboard you have? Also is your ram DDR2?
