whenever i start up my pc i get a loud whirring noise coming from my pc, my pc isnt even that old, as i got it from the store last christmas, my two intial thoughts is that its either one of the fans on the system spinning uncontrollably, or the harddrive is damaged. please help me as this frightens me whenever i turn my pc on.

Assuming a paper or plastic adhesive tag, how did they get it to stick to the side panel and (presumably) the back before they closed it?
And if 'they' open it, how is it determined they this was the first time it was 'broken'?

Unless they can show you, in writing, where it says the customer cannot open his own bought and paid for PC...open that puppy up...

Definitely look at the fans first a slightly touching wire can make some NOISE. i had same problem and it was a wire the fell out of a groove in one of my fans, moved it out of the way and was fine. Also depending on you HDD (would like to know what it is) they can have a noisy start up just because of spinning up. check to see if any dust has accumulated around it and use a PC Duster (air jet thing) to clean off this prevents any nasty finger damage. if that dosen't work start problem testing sit next to it with side panel off and ears ready to see if you can pin point where it is coming from, then get back to us with your findings.

i cant open the side of my case because i will break the warranty on the pc, if anything goes wrong, i want the shop to fix it, the sound goes after a while, but it happens everytime i turn my pc on, the sound stays there for about, 10-20 seconds and then the sound goes...

the person who sold me this pc at the shop, pcworld to be precise, they said there is a a tag on the inside of the case when you open the side of the case, it breaks the tag... im debating due to the reliability of pc's these days.

Sounds like PCWorld has got quite a little scam going.

I mean really. What are you supposed to do? Take it back every 6 months so that they can open it and blow the dust out? ($29.95 service fee)

wow, for that price you might as well get some compressed air cans and do it yourself, or if you have a mechanic for a dad he can do it for free.

What I'm saying is: "Thou shalt not open thy PC" is a scam, pure and simple.
