Depends on your budget. If your budget is less than $100 then the Athlon X4 750k or Pentium G3220 would be a good choice.Otherwise you could get an i3 or fx 6300.

Sometimes at Micro Center, the AMD FX 8320 will go on sale for 99 bucks!

If you have more to spend, say, $200-500; get either an AMD 8350 or 9590, or Intel i7 4770k.

Don't get a 8350 get a 8320 if your going that way, the 8350 is just a overclocked 8320 with a higher price. Just get a 8320 and oc

i3 4130 would be a decent cheap alternative but any haswell based i5 should be enough for next gen games

i5 3570k or FX 8300 would be great
Intel Pros: Overclockable, Ivy bridge, Quadra core, 6Mb L3 cache
AMD Pros: 8core, 8Mb L3 cache, great Hyperthreading
Note:Intel CPUs offer more power and run heavy games
AMD ones are more popular nowadays because they have many cores, what current games
mostly need
