I recently had 750GB Hard Drive as a secondary drive in a Notebook (preloaded with files and folders as an external), and created some sort of system failure.
After the Second HD was detached, I was able to recover the Notebook to running condition. However, I cannot begin to fix, or even examine this HD because it causes problems within whatever PC I try to plug it into.
It causes other random processes to freeze when it is attached. The moment I unplug the HD it all systems return to normal.
I would like to retrieve the data on HD. Actually, I would like to clone the entire drive if possible. But when I run programs like Recuva to access and/or fix the drive directory the HD when attached to the PC doesn't allow me to open Recuva!
The moment I disconnect the faulty HD the Recuva recovers.
I tried attaching the HD in both within an eSATA enclosure and a USB enclosure, the results are the same.
I am running Windows 7 Professional on both PCs.
Notebook: Dell Precision M6400 32-bit
Desktop: Dell Optiplex 960 64-bit
faulty HD is a Seagate 750GB
Please help
