Hi my iMac is completely stuck on the white bootscreen with the cog rolling on and on. I have been onto disk utilities and verified my disk and it is fine I have also reinstalled the mac operating system which did nothing, and I have also done the fsck method which did not work either. I have a feeling that it could be something to do with the mac overheating but any help is appreciated.

Have you tried going into Disk Utility on your recovery partition and completely wiping the drive?
