I have the HIS IceQ X2 Boost R9 270 non-X in my personal rig, and my tower only has a single 120mm fan as of right now. I'll be adding at least two or three more soon for better flow, but my cooling situation is bland right now. My GPU reaches around 57 Degrees Celsius in MSI Kombustor full screen 1080P Benchmarks, with OC core at 1050MHz and memory at 1500MHz, fan speed set to manual and 55%. I could easily turn the fan speed up if I wanted to, the noise doesn't bother me since I wear headphones 99% of the time I'm at my computer, and I tried 100% once with my case's side panel off and the card didn't shake at all so it wasn't unstable. I want to OC even farther, past the factory limits, since in real world applications like gaming or rendering with OpenCL my card can stay below 50 degrees sometimes below 45 if my house is cool enough. My real question here is what is the maximum temperature for the R9 270 or 270X, since the cards are more or less the same thing. Along with the maximum temperature, what do you say is the safest maximum temperature? I don't want to destroy my card, but I want to squeeze every drop of performance possible out of it until I either upgrade to another 270 and Crossfire or buy a better card.
