Should I buy a be quiet dark rock 2 or the be quiet dark rock 3. And will they fit with a corsair vengeance pro 8gigs with 2x4gb on a asus maximus vi hero

how high would be overclocking? With moderate overclocking upto 4.5, cooler master hyper 212 Evo would be enough for you.

According to Hexus.net

We couldn't install a taller-than-normal Corsair Vengeance Pro memory module in the first DIMM slot, however slots two and four on the Gigabyte board were fine provided we raised the cooler's front fan ever so slightly.

In conclusion, you have to leave 1st slot empty to use this cooler with other than lower profile ram.
