Computer Freezing Alot

For some reason lately my computer keep freezing and i get that smiley face from windows 8

the things that it shows me are MEMORY.DMP and a few

i recently upgraded to 16gb of ram but had to rma a 8gb stick as it broke in postage
Why is this happening after the ram change ? thanks

Do you have the voltages and CAS settings right? Or are they still the same as what your old sticks had?

Set the voltage and memory settings to what is appropriate for your current RAM. Should be in the documentation it came with, or then you could find a fact sheet for the correct model number if you google it.

everything is fine i thought ram just plug and play all i did was bump 1333 to 1600 as that what it said it should be

Check the BIOS. I'd manually set it to what it should be.
