Viruses are seldom known to attack firmware. It sounds like your problem is either firmware (system BIOS) related or a hardware malfunction. When the POST loops it's usually because a hardware component is not passing the POST.

Hardware failure = replace the problem component. It could be memory, or it could be the CPU, and so on. The worst case is that you'll have to replace the motherboard.

Firmware corruption = try to flash the BIOS by downloading the latest from Asus' support page for your model. Hopefully you can flash it by putting the BIOS update file(s) on a USB flash drive and then boot from that. Again, in the worst case scenario of the BIOS being corrupt, the motherboard may need replaced.

If you're under warranty, contact Asus. Should they service it under warranty, you'll be without the laptop for awhile, but as long as you're covered, there shouldn't be any charge.
