Hi I recently shorted my motherboard accidentally. It is about 5 years old.
I spotted the exact same motherboard for sale used on ebay for £80

I was wondering what option would be best and what are available to me. I'm a bit of a noob with motherboards and the jargon involved.
I do not have much cash. Would it be best to buy the same one, or an old compatible used one (If this is possible), or go for a new board.

I recently bought a new Corsair PSU and Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 and WD HD Scorpio Blue 1TB Hard drive.
By shorting the board what are the chances it would wipe out these and the CPU?

My CPU is Intel Duo core 2GHz with 775 socket.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Because the 775 chipset is so old at this point, you're probably going to be best served by ebay. So go ahead and pick up that same motherboard (MB). There wont be many options better than what you had if you're not willing to upgrade the CPU as well.

If you wanted to do an upgrade you'd have to upgrade both the MB and CPU together. Then you'd have to decide what your budget was and look for something in your price range. You'd only need to purchase the MB and CPU as your other components should work without any problems (HDD, DDR3 RAM, PCIexpress GPU, etc.).
