If you had to choose between these two gpus and they costed the same, which one would you buy?

Superclocked evga titan black with the metal plate

Or

King pin evga 780ti

I'm fully aware of which one is faster and cooler, the thing is, this is for a small form factor case I'm building which has pretty good airflow especially in the graphics area slot, the problem is this is a machine that needs to last at least 3 years from now and it won't receive any upgrades until then (by that time I'll just get a new build)

While principally a gaming rig, it is also a multi purpose rig with some video editing on the side, all the gaming would be done on a 4k monitor.

Thanks

Solution
The titan will serve you better for 4k however when EVGA launches the 6gb versions of their cards which will make them more optimized for 4k

Thanks for the answers. I used to do my more video editing, authoring, etc. in the past, now I just do one or two big ones a year, if any, and only when family or friends want some special project, so what really matters to me is 4k gaming but it's also very important to me that I only get a single gpu, my sff case doesn't do ssl.

Also, please don't take price into account, imagine they both cost the same.

It's basically a card that's a little faster vs a card that has more ram. Single gpu 4k gaming won't require more ram than what the 780tim kingpin offers, I'm aware of that, I'm also aware that I won't upgrade any component for 3 years, so more ram makes a bit more sense for future games that take more advantage of 4k.

Kinda torn between these two, another factor is cooling, the kingpin probably cools better as it has custom fans but in small form factor cases that type of cooling can be harmful to the case due to how it releases hot air back into the case rather than out the back the way a reference cooled card would, so maybe the superclocked titan black with the evga backplate would be cooler in this case.

The Titan is $1000 and the 780Ti is $700. The 780Ti has more Cuda Cores and is faster than the Titan. Ib fact, it is the fastest GPU on the market. Having said that, you mentioned SFF ? I doubt either will even fit in a Small Form Factor Case. They are not Low profile cards.

As I said before, forget about price and imagine they both cost the same.

The 780ti is not faster than the titan black, the titan black is nvidias fastest single gpu card, the thing is companies like evga sell overclocked versions of the 780ti such as the king pin with higher clock speeds and different cooling solutions and there just aren't the same options out there for the titan black. You can get am evga superclocked titan black and even a water cooled titan black that's overclocked almost as high as the kingpin but from what's available right now, 780ti kingpin is the best you can get, except my situation requires other needs that I must take into account, such as ram and cooling.

As for the case itself, it's a sff case but it fits a dual slot graphics card in the bottom right on top of a vent and the case is slightly lifted to allow for cool air to enter that way, I will also be using a liquid cooler for the CPU but due to the small size of the case I have to go with a 120mm fan setup, nothing else will fit. I'm trying to build a miniature tower beast that will look good on my desk and do 4k gaming while still looking like a useless toy on the outside, so whoever looks at it will instantly underestimate it.

Stupid idea I know but I'm quite excited about it, the wife is going nuts as this is all I talk about lately.

Also, knowing titanfall will support 4k soon makes me a happy man

kingpin easy, its the fastest card in the world holding every record in every world class overclocking category. the titan black is still a reference design, it will never ever come close to what the kingpin is capable of even if it were under water, its power delivery design is no where near stout enough. the kpe is capable of over 2.0ghz under ln2 but usually levels out at around 1.6-1.7ghz 24/7 overclock with a good 240 rad and a d5 style pump feeding the ekwb block. the titan black is still using the same reference ncp4206 6 phase voltage controller, it will never be able to supply what the classified chil8318 14+3 phase voltage controller can feed the gk110. its simply a law of electrical engineering.

Code:
The kingpins are very wide my 780 classified barely fits in my case. So if small form is your goal than not the kingpin. The titan black will fit in micro and mini atx cases everything said about the kingpinsis true but to unleash its full power requires a fair bit of confidence and understanding of the unlocked ln2 bios and requires good cooling solutions to make it perform that good so keep that in mind when making statements like that.

Liquid nitrogen is not something I'm considering for a sff case, it wouldn't fit and it's not really what I have in mind here, maybe in a few years with my next build I'll get a gt lvl 10 or something fancy and delve into that.

As for the kingpin being faster, I know that already but speed is not the only issue here.

Avocade, how thick or wide is the kingpin? Might not even fit in the first place
