LCD "Radiation" Issue

I was curious as the a friend told me that LCD monitors can give off a small bit of radiation. I looked it up and seems to be true that it's a very little bit. Here is my question as this monitor I've had for 4 to 5 years is a LCD monitor, it's a HP w2408h. I've had two other monitors and the second one I'm still using, but is going out like the other did. This is my issue and want to know if this is the reason.

Issue:
I have my monitors in a triangle shaped centering, so the two screens look at the user (me). Both of them are close at the edges. Now for my concerns is that my left monitor (not the HP - is a Samsung that's about 2 to 3 years old) is going out on the right side, and the rest of the screen is starting the flicker. Now, for my previous monitor which was a Sony (forgot LED/LCD/Etc.) was on the right side, and my HP was on the left side. After a while the left side of my Sony was going out (same formation as now).

From these details, does it sound like a radiation issue and I should get two new monitors? I have already selected two others that are LED Blacklight LCD and a normal LED Monitor.

Thanks for the feedback

All monitors give off radiation! What do you think light and heat are?

CRT screens function by blasting Beta radiation at the screen in a tight beam! But the screen is made of phosphor that catches the electrons in the beam to turn it into light, and leaded glass to catch the rest of the radiation. Commercial electronics go through strict safety standards, nothing you deal with on a regular basis will expose the user to harmful radiation unless damaged.

LCD and LED screens have no harmful radiation sources in them, it sounds more like you either have monitors that are going, or a loose cable connection.

When things start going wrong, the least exotic explanation is likely the correct one. If you hear hoof beats you think horses...

Ha, man everything today gives you cancer or is dangerous 99% of what you hear and read is cooked... If they do give off any form of radiation it wouldn't be enough to cause harm. I haven't heard of a person being sterilized or mutated by being around their monitors regularly

There are MANY different types of radiation, all electronic devices will emit some miniscule form of 'Electromagnetic Radiation'. It's nothing to be concerned about even in the slightest notion.

How often do you have these monitors left on? And are they set for maximum brightness?

I only have on when I am on the computer, and I have the brightness set to the lowest (15-25 / 100) and the contrast set to lowest (0-10 / 100). My eyes are sensitive to light.

LMAO Keep up the Comedy - Radiation from LCD/LED that's an awesome joke
As azathoth noted all electrical devices have Electromagnetic radiation
Even Sunlight has Radiation - On no
And all those Nuclear reactors that melted down in Japan have polluted the world not to mention all that nuclear testing, and Chernobyl... we are a doomed species :(
Now Cell Phones they Microwave your brain and cause cell mutation and cancer... Read the Fine print mine say hold phone at least 2cm from head

Good Luck let us know if your grow a third eye for your 3 screens

It cannot be proven that RF radiation at that intensity causes damage to human tissue.

Everything electronic puts out some sort of radiation. CCFL may put out a tiny bit of UV if that is what you mean
but LED should not. Not that it is an amount strong enough to be harmful.

Saying LCD produce any significant radiation is FUD

All monitors produce various levels of different electro magnetic radiation and if anyone does a little research, they would know this fact. Lcd, led, plasma, cathode ray etc. all produce radiation. The question is are the levels of radiation and harmful for the intended use? Or which monitors are the safest to use? These are far more difficult questions to answer. A general rule is less exposure is better for most if not all types of radiation. The makers of all monitors do not want to deal with the radiation subject because they do not want you to even think about it at all. The monitors do have to be tested and deemed safe for consumers to use as they intended. There is a lot of factors that determine the overall risk factor for exposure. The power levels, content displyed, shielding, technology (type) etc.

But give my opinion on your situation, it does not seem like a radiation issue at all.
