so after running heaven benchmarking many times increasing clock speed little by little i got to a point where it crashed and dropped it back to where it was last stable is that there is to it or should i play some games and such and see if it stays solid

so i ran a benchmark with furmark with higher clock setting and nothing crashed but when i try to benchmark on unigine heaven with these speeds its crashed should i try the burn test?

Yes you should and also try playing a few games demanding to further help determine whether your overclock is safe. Also, make sure you check the temperatures constantly.
