Hi. Here is my rig...

Case- Corsair Carbide 500R
Mobo- MSI G45 Z87
CPU- i5 4670k
GPU- MSI 780 ti Gaming
RAM- Gskill Ripjaw 1600 8gig

The other day I ran Unigine heaven and my PC froze and when I tried to reset it it would just show a black screen with no power message. My computer guy hit the CMOS switch on the mobo and the computer loaded into windows fine and everything works fine except now...

1. My GPU is making a whining noise that is consistent. At first I thought something happened to the GPU and packed it up for RMA but then I put in my Sapphire 7950 and it was making the same noise. If it were coil whine, it would come and go right? But this noise is always happening during any 3d Application and I think the harder the GPU works the louder the noise gets.

2. My case fans started spinning much faster and became noisy. Prior to this, these Corsair fans were dead silent even on the highest setting. My computer guy put filters on all of them to keep them from being so noisy but this way I lost control of them.

3. My PSU was an old Dell 875W PSU from my Alienware Aurora. The PSU was about 6 years old and I thought it may be the culprit here. After the CMOS reset I heard a buzzing sound coming from what I thought was the PSU. Today we switched out the old PSU for a new Seasonic 1050W Gold PSU. I still hear a buzzing noise but I think its a little bit lower and I don't think it's coming from the PSU. I think it's coming from the motherboard itself?

Please if anyone has any idea what this could be or any remedy for this I could really use some help right now :( Thanks

Solution
Can pull the guts and put it on a table/bench and sart with thte minimum, CPU and a stick of DRAM and try and nail down the location of the noise

My computer guy seems to know what hes doing but he didnt do that and thats a great idea. He's a good guy but he keeps trying to convince me that the things I know should not be happening are normal. Right now I just took off the door and I can hear the motherboard where the CPU is making a weird noise. When I run Unigine or any game the GPU starts making noise. The fans are making noise even though they are supposed to be silent.

The last time I brought it to him he turned it on and I noticed one of the fans wasn't spinning. Turned out there was a small piece of plastic wedged in it. The piece of plastic was the clip from the PSU wire that connects to the motherboard. Maybe another piece of plastic got lodged somewhere? He ran wires behind the motherboard maybe one of them is caught where it shouldn't be? I'm not the expert here, he is supposed to be. I guess I have to ask him to take it apart and start putting it back together piece by piece like you said. Thanks :)
