So i currently have a gtx 660ti, i wanna upgrade to a new gpu in the hope of running Star Citizen on high. I'm thinking of getting another 660ti and setting it up in 2 way sli with my current 660, and wait for the 800 series from nvidia. Or will a 760 be a better investment? I guess what im really asking is should i get 600 series sli, 700 series card or do the long wait for the 800 series?

More about : gtx 760 660 sli wait 800 series

I don't really think 800 series is for end users, so you could wait. If it comes out, then get that, as it's future proof. However, right now it's better to get a 760, as it's more future proof, and better performing.

A gtx 660ti is a little bit slower than a gtx 760. Two of them will outperform a 760 by far in any game.. But think about it, do you really need a second gpu or can you wait for the 800 series? My gtx 660 played battlefield 4 at medium with around 60 fps most of the time at 1080p. It could play all games just fine.

Really? Medium on BF4? I'm running it between ultra and high, easily getting over 60fps, anyway, should i go with the 760 for $250 or the 770 $350? Opinions?

I am using a gtx 660, you're using the ti version. And you'll get higher fps in multiplayer compared to the campaign. But yeah. Don't bother with a gtx 760 as it's barely any faster than a gtx 660ti. Only a few fps in difference. Upgrading to a gtx 770 or r9 280x is a better option if you want a new gpu right away.

Think the 770 would be the best choice here, might look at the Asus CU models, OC great and run cool, came close to getting them but splurged on the 780s

I'd also recommend Asus, except for one thing. My gtx 660 was voltage locked, only from Asus. The other vendors allowed overclocking.

Don't know much about the gtx 770 when it comes to voltages but it's a nice card.
