Is there any hope for a Toshiba Satellite (hard drive) that the owner has forgotten the BIOS password to?

I am the neighborhood go to guy for computers here. I had a Lady bring me her laptop that her 12 yr old grandson (doing her a favor) put a BIOS password on (so much for his Christmas present!). Of course she doesn't remember it so the first time she turned it off... well the rest is ...here. :pfff: I have tried every trick in the book and researched it to no avail. Toshiba has done this right. Kudos to them.
The real problem is not getting into the computer, but I promised her that I could get her family pictures off of the hard drive. It seems that Toshiba did this right too.
Is there any way to get into the hard drive to retrieve her pictures? My main computer wont even show that it is hooked up (hidden maybe).
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Smitty

Nope! Toshiba says send it in with proof of purchase/ownership and for about 100 bucks they will clear the password for her. Her daughter bought it for her last Christmas out of a pawn shop in Bakersfield, Ca. So much for proof of anything along those lines.
For now the project is on hold. It will collect dust until someday someone figures out how to hack the Toshiba security features on this model series.
FYI I now have two of these collecting dust. My nephew just bricked his Toshiba laptop the same way.
