Long story short, I built my first computer with an 128 gb SSD. Space is being taken up very quickly by programs that when installing, dont give the option of installing somewhere such as on my HDD. All the programs that have given me the option are on my HDD but there are still quite a few on the SSD. Is there a way to force them to install onto the HDD, Move them over without messing up file location pathways, or just make the default install location on the HDD?

Windows 7
Samsung Evo 128gb SSD

Thanks

If you want the programs already installed to be on the HDD, you need to reinstall.

Sometimes, a program has a "Custom Installation" feature that's selected in the installation. I don't recall ever coming across a program in which you weren't able to change the installation location.

Just about every application from the last decade gives the option of 'where'.
And applications, apart from games, don't really take up that much space. I have a LOT of applications and the OS on mine, and it is currently ~51GB used space.

What are you installing that is taking so much space?

I dont know what is taking up so much space, all I've put on there is the OS, drivers, Anti virus and then the programs that haven't allowed me to install somewhere else. I can retry finding the custom installation but I couldn't find it last time.

iTunes, adobe, chrome, razercoms, skype are some of the offending programs. And before you ask, all my librarys from iTunes and my documents are all redirected to my HDD.

WinDirStat can help visualize where that space is going.

Thank you for that. I'm using that program now (installed on my HDD) and its showing me that a lot of space is being taken up by backups from iTunes for my iPhone. Now working on finding how I can redirect the backups.

thanks. The backups are already being stored on an external hard drive :)
