I emailed tech support for my mainboard, the guy said it's not on the list of supported CPUs, and may cause instability. They seem identical, in every way except clock and Watts. CPUcompare comparison of details:

Seems minor.. but I don't want to have to ship the processor back because of system hangs. And no other CPU on list matches my needs-- this one is the best slot FM2 for the board and money.

Eventually it will work. Sometimes certain things are temperamental. A clear signal would be no post from the motherboard that a processor is not compatible.
I'd like to try to avoid that. I already sent back 2 boards because of random reboots. Got a better power supply, No help. Finally, sent back the CPU and RAM. I don't want to get anything whose part number isn't on the list supplied by the board manufacturer-- yet.. the 5800 is really the best card for the money that Newegg offers, the rest are kind of just over not tolerably sub-par-- and I must use a store credit now.
If you or anyone else has experience with the scenario, please help. How much (stability) difference could 35 watts make, on a chip that's identical in every other way?
