Second Screen Incorrect Resolution

Hello!

I recently tried to run a different display off my laptop. The laptop's native resolution is 1920 X 1080, and I am trying to get the screen to display at 2560 X 1440, which is the native resolution of the monitor, through HDMI, but there is no option anywhere to output at 1440p. I am using a Samsung Chronos, and I believe that the monitor is being displayed by integrated graphics (Intel 4000), instead of the 8870m discrete card. In both the AMD, Intel, and Windows 8 settings there is no option to run at the correct 1440p resolution. I tried creating a custom resolution in the Intel display driver, but was prevented by a message telling me about "Insufficient bandwidth". Rebooting did nothing and all of my efforts have been futile. Any suggestions that may fix this?

Thanks,
