Why isn't my laptop utilizing all of it's CPU cores?

Hi,
I'm running a Lenovo Ideapad y580
- nVidia GTX 660m 2gb VRAM
- Intel i7 3630QM @ 2.40 GHz
- 1TB Hard Drive @ 5400 RPMs

When I play a game called Warframe, it only uses one of my cores (http://tinypic.com/r/2qtze5f/8) while the other don't do much. This results in lag spikes and a general FPS of 20, while my computer could power much more if it used all of its cores.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
Thanks!

Make sur to put power options set to 'HIGH PERFORMANCE' as said above....

For that click on battery icon on taskbar...

It will go to control pane>power and you will have to click on the arrow and it will show an option called high performance....

This will give much better gaming experience...but battery drains faster....
Give this a spin and cheers bro...

It could very well be that that game only utilises a single core, but here's something else to try.

1. Launch the game and Alt+Tab back into Windows.
2. Open Task Manager and look for the game under the Processes tab.
3. Right-click the process and click Set Affinity.
4. Make sure the <All Processors> box is ticked.

If only a single core has been enabled, then the game is forcibly utilising a single core which could explain the spikes. By ticking <All Processors> you allow the game to make use of all the cores/threads as it sees fit.
