HOW fast is my RAM?

Solution
Look in the BIOS for XMP, EOCP or DOCP, if you have one of those, simply enable it and select 1600, it will set the sticks up for you, else let me know what mobo and we'll set them up manually

Ya, the memory controller is on your Intel CPU and by default it runs at 1333MHz.
And everyone blame "the crappy ram", Newegg reviews are littered with problem from un-tech savy owners.
Just set it to 1600 in your Bios or enable XPM.

When you install DRAM in a mobo, it goes automatically to the mobos default (most often 1333 (some 1066 or 1600), on Intel, for sticks 1600 and up, simply enable XMP and select profile 1, if BIOS is ready for the sticks it will set them up for you, can confirm using CPU-Z (free utility program) by checking the Memory Tab, it will show the true freq which is half of the spec freq, i.e. 1600 sticks have a true freq of 800 as it's DOUBLE data rate (DDR)

My cpu is AMD 6300, so how do i get it to 1600MHz? will it make a difference? how big of a difference? is going to 1600 MHZ considered as overclocking? thanks
