Asus P9x79 Le
i7 3820 (no OC)
16GB Corsair Vengeance @1600Mhz
GTX Titan
Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB / WD 2TB Green / x2 Samsung 840 Pro 512GB

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on my new x2 Samsung 840 Pro 512GB Raid 0 configuration. I turned SATA to Raid in the BIOS and then set the two SSD's in default Raid 0 configuration. Then i booted from the Win 7 CD and ran into the error massage "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing".

After searching Google for a while i figured out i needed Raid drivers. So i downloaded all the 4 versions for my Mobo that i found on the Asus homepage. I extracted the drivers over to my external hard drive, set SATA to Raid again and booted from CD. I plugged in the external hdd to load the driver from it and none of the 4 drivers work!

When i select the Win 7 64bit drivers i get up difference versions of Intel C600/Csomething chipset raid driver bla bla. Then when i click next i get an error message after 2-3 seconds telling me that the driver could not be installed and that i should get the newest drivers from my vendors website.

Now i'm booted into Windows 7 on the old SSD in AHCI mode and my Raid 0 config shows up in disk management as 906GB unallocated. Should i make it into a simple volume and try to install Win 7 on it while in the OS?

Have i overlooked something obvious? Is it the wrong drivers? I'm stuck.. help!

I tried and failed. During the installation on the first automatic restart i got an error msg telling me that Windows could not find the petition that it was trying to install too. The 906GB SSD raid is now NTFS Active. But i guess trying to install on a raid configuration does not work when i'm booted into OS with AHCI. Just like i can't boot into Windows on my old SSD when SATA is set to raid..
