Hey all!
So my PC, the components inside which I owe to all the people on here who helped me out ;), is moving close to 10 months old, a period of time over which I've added a hellofalot of fans. However I noticed that when I was playing demanding games and my 7870 XT started to heat up, the whole PC was and as a matter of fact my entire room started to heat up. I cracked and over the weekend I finally took it all apart and did the cable management that I'd been putting off for so long, and I bought a fan controller and I repositioned fans etc etc. However now my bottom intake fan, a CoolerMaster something, ticks continuously, not to mention is noisier than the rest of my system!
I have no idea what's up with it, so unless someone was anything to say about that, I'd appreciate any advice and opinions on quiet, efficient (emphasis on quiet) 120mm/140mm fans. They don't have to be silent just quiet.
Sorry about the long post guys but I appreciate any help!

yeah that ticking sound pretty much means it's dead or dying, sorry mate. that said i highly recommend corsair sp or af quiet fans. these fans usually run about us $17 and are really high quality and quiet! by chance have you thought of seeing how much hotter it is without that fan? if it's not much different maybe you can just kill that fan and gain a more silent rig! anyhow i recommend those fans, and the sp version is perfect for hdd cages and radiators. good luck!

Damn! I thought as much, I even opened the side panel and held my finger onto of the centre part of the fan but no luck still ticks. and god it's loud haha. The thing about just taking the fan out is that that fan is one of my two intake fans, I have a negative system going on (2 intakes for 3 exhausts). So turning that down to one intake would probably reduce the amount of cool air coming into my system too much... Might need a second opinion on that one. I had a look at those Corsair ones you said and they look pretty damn good, and have some good reviews. Cost is like $22AUD (Australia) so that's basically what I'm looking for. Thanks a lot man!
Any other suggestions I'm still open to!

yeah if you have a system worked out don't mess with that, sucks things are a bit more expensive in aus, but hey sounds like it's in the range you wanted. also i don't personally know but have heard the the gelid wings are amazing too, they should be around the same price, and the king of fans is the noctua nf-f12's if you can stomach the color.

Yeah I know right so much more expensive here, for small stuff like fans that's ok but you should see GPUs... it's ridiculous. Gelid fans are quite cheap actually I'll look into them, and the Noctua one I was fearful of when you mentioned colour haha! I looked it up and damn son.. who in their right mind designed that thing!?! It had better be the king haha!
