As my present dual core is not able to run gta 4 nfs hot pursuit and rest of the games which requires better processing power.. I am planning to have a core 2 duo 2.5 or 2.8GHz .. I have AMD r7 series gpu .. What do think ??

Well, first off, an Intel processor isn't going to fit in an AMD motherboard, and vice versa. They all have different sockets, so you'd need to upgrade your MOBO, and the CPU. You may already know this, just wanted to make sure. Have you considered just upgrading to a whole new system? If that's too much I may be able to price out some new mobo/CPU set up for you that would be alright for the interim. What kind of budget are you looking at?

Yeah, ASUS is the brand, but it's going to be either an AMD socket, or an Intel socket. For example an AMD socket would be something like AM2/AM3, etc, whereas the Intel will be LGA 775 (in the case of the Core 2 Duo) or LGA 1366, etc. With $82 it may be hard to get a motherboard, and CPU, and whatever else you'd need to make the switch.

Edit: I just realized I misread your original post, thought you were talking about swapping an AMD CPU with an Intel CPU. Okay, so what's your current processor?

Oh I wouldn't :) What exactly is the model of your motherboard? It may or may not support Core 2 Duo even though they're both LGA 775.

Looking up that number I couldn't find anything, however I did find one called a ASUS P5G41T-M LX3, so I'm going to assume that's the one? If it is, then an i5 won't fit, as that's an 1156 socket, so you'd need an LGA 1156 motherboard. Here's a list of every processor that the ASUS mobo will support direct from ASUS' website. Hope this helps. :) http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/list.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5G41T-M+LX3
