Hi all,
I've been running AMD for awhile and right now I've been using the FX 6300 OC'd to 4.7 ghz.
I've always wanted to upgrade to intel, but i always waited to see what they would have to offer. With Haswell E coming out really soon, would this be the perfect time to upgrade? Should I buy regular Haswell instead? Or should I wait it out and stick with what I've got now? Any help is much appreciated!

Absolutely nothing wrong with your current CPU, its a great chip. As for Haswell-E, that could be a 2011 platform, or e-atx so you may end up needing a new case over regular 1150 atx which will fit in your current case.

Either way, if it isn't imperative to upgrade, I'd wait it out.

btw, socket 2011 boards do come in regular ATX and even micro ATX.

umm, I know, that's why I said 2011, OR e-atx. Would be just like Intel to come out with a whole new platform for the -E, and be on an e-atx mobo till 3rd party vendors get it in gear and start makin some options

... lol if you knew that, then why would you say it could be e-atx and need a new case.
