Hi!

I have a Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 motherboard. At the moment i have a stock cooler on my i5-4670K which sounds horrible! I want to get an Noctua NH-U14S. The question is, will it be too large for my motherboard? Will it block one ram slot or a pci slot?

Disclaimer: I don't honestly know.

Noctua has a compatability list, here: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_gen&products_id=34&lng=en#LGA1155_Gigabyte, depending on what version of the G1 Sniper you have..

You probably want to use low profile RAM.

It'll definitely be fine. If your RAM is a problem, you can just put the fan on the other side.

It will be VERY close to the graphics card, but shouldn't be a problem. Noctua recommends you to insulate the edge of the fan clips (electrical tape will do)

The thing you want to look for is if your case can fit it, it's a pretty tall cooler.

I feel a little paranoid about it being so close to the graphics card. I think i might just get the smaller NH-U12S instead ;) Or would you recommend another cooler?

First i was thinking of buying the Corsair H100i liquid cooler but i have heard it has alot of problems with noise and potential leakage, so i got paranoid ;)
