I have an old PC that I'm turning into a media server. To improve operformance I thought I'd sli my graphics card, so have found one online. However, this card is ddr3 as opposed to ddr2 like my old card.

I know they would both work independently on my motherboard, but would they work together with SLI?

Specs:-
Abit FATALITY FP-IN9 SLI Socket 775 NF650i DDR2 ATX
Intel Core2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz
Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower (Socket 939/754/478/775) CPU Cooler
2gb DDR2 Corsair Dominator Ram
Nvidia Foxconn 8800GTS 320MB - DDR2 (current GC).
Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 320MB - DDR3 (New GC proposed to use for SLi bridge)

A media server build isn't going to have it's performance greatly improved by a SLI setup.

Primarily you'll be storing media on it and playing that media remotely? In which case the CPU, HDD and Network speed are going to be most important. Current media player software can't utilize SLI to its full potential, it's mostly just for gaming.

That being said, SLI can be a finicky beast. With the DDR3 card in the primary slot you might be fine. Nvidia says the GPU is compatible and that's the important part of the equation, the RAM is secondary as to whether it works or not. So... best guess. Yes!
