Reinstalling Windows 7 on SSD Drive w/o Serial Key?

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting an SSD to use it as my boot up drive and for some games that I can place there.

When I first got my PC I had Windows 7 with it, the serial key and dvd, etc. I've read online that I need to take out my old drive (which is a 1TB WD), put in the SSD drive, install windows 7 and then put my old drive back in. But...after I installed the Windows 7 on my 1TB Drive and used the serial key to make my windows genuine, I threw it away.

My question is, when using the re installation disc for Windows 7, do I need to enter the serial key again? In this case I can't since I've already threw it away >_> (silly me)

Solution
Yes, you will need to enter the activation key again. You may be able to retrieve it from the existing install with BelArc Advisor.
