My buddy bought all new computer parts so he could catch up and be ready for the new games coming out. Computer specs are as follows:

Intel Core i7 4770k 3.5Ghz
G1 Sniper Z5s Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 8Gb (2x4Gb)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 4Gb
Samsung 840EVO 1TB SSD
Corsair Obsidian 750D

We can get to the BIOS and we can set boot order. There's an option for UEFI for the USB sticks but when I pick that it just goes back to the BIOS. When I pick just the USB stick with Windows 7 on it, it just says it's missing the OS. I tried booting from his old computer HDD and it just BSOD.

You won't be able to boot from the old HDD; the drivers will be COMPLETELY different. A clean re-install is needed.

Does the USB have the Windows 7 .iso file on it, or is it just a bunch of folders?

Yeah I sort of realized that. It was a dumb idea. I'm just willing to try almost anything.

It's folders and the setup program. I've used it several times to install windows on my computer and my brothers though.
