Liveupdate can't run

I am running windows 8.1 with Symantec Endpoint Protection. How can I configure Windows to allow Liveupdate to run without asking for my permission?

I tried to change this using Configuration Manager in Windows but I am denied access to CM.

Windows 8 ships with Antivirus included in Windows Defender (Incorporates M'Soft Security Essentials) so for general use no 3rd party AV is required. In fact it is not recommended to run 3rd party AV alongside Defender, so you might be advised to turn off Defender. Don't think it will solve your problem, but removing Symantec should!
