Computer is saying that the correct security key is incorrect

I just got fibre optic installed today and my computer claims that I'm entering the wrong security key when Im not. The internet works with other devices but not my computer, can somebody please help.

I had the same problem and I was always back to square zero each time I restarted my laptop. Here is how I fixed it windows 8 and should work for windows 7 as well.

1. Right click the wireless sign at the task bar, then select "Network and Sharing Center."
2. Select "Set up a new connection or network" below Change your networking settings.
3. Chose a connection option, choose "Manually connect to a wireless network, connect to a hidden network or create a new wireless profile" and click next.
4. Net work name: The same network name that you have.
Security type: Choose WPA2-personal
Encryption type: Choose AES
Security key: Enter the same password that you always use.
Tick the box "Start this connection automatically."

Ok this is the security key for your router. If you can access the router your can find the key. Or, I would go back to the other computers that are accessing the internet and look at the key in them to make sure you are entering the right key.

I am assuming that you just got fios or something.

if you have a camera try taking a picture of the password/passphrase and enlarge sometimes they can be tricky in small print. Also caps/lowercase is important. Also if there is a Capital "O" or 0 (zero) try both ways, sometimes look the same.

will it let you connect using wps push button (OS tells you to push the button and there may be a button on the router to hold for about 5 seconds and will sync like bluetooth)

are you clicking on the name of the network and being prompted to enter password or trying to do manualy if so you need to make sure protocal is correct for type and class.

lastly that i can think of make sure you are entering what the OS is asking for
. What I mean by this is that newer routers(gateways) have two passwords, one is a wps pin and other regular password and it is easy to think it is just asking to enter the password when the os is asking to enter the pin (if that is the case it is generally a 8 or 10 digit number on the router as well), or there should be a small choice on the os prompt for the pin to use the password/passphrase instead

6. Go back to connect wireless pane, select your network name and enter the same password.

I hope this has solved your problem too because I no longer experience any problem ever since I set up mine.
