I plan on getting the Asus pg278q 1440p 120hz monitor when it is released. If anyone thinks there is a better monitor already out please let me know.

I've already decided to go ahead and upgrade now but was thinking on waiting for maxwell. As the subject stated I'm looking at the 780ti(more than likely MSI) or a titan black. There will only be one monitor and if i get the ti I will more than likely sli it in a couple months or so but the 6gb of memory on the black is intriguing. Will my 1440p hit more than 3gb of ram in the most demanding games already out and still to come? If not will the black just be a waist of money then? I have had crossfire for some time now and a few of my favorites like ARMA just hate it so I'm really just trying to get the most powerful single card I can right now? Feedback and experiences are greatly appreciated. Thank you. Also, will I need a new power supply?

Edit: My case is a corsair graphite and i have a hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler. I have the vent on my case instead of the window. It is more than adequate for my crossfire setup. I have never owned a nvidia so I do not know how much heat they generate considering the raw power they have.

I would just wait if I were you EVGA seems pretty sure it'll be in 90 days but just in case. It shouldn't be much longer though before they are here no actual date though.

Agreed, but I'm commenting on your remarks about potentially waiting for Maxwell.

Going with the 780 ti is probably a better idea because that card has a fully unlocked GK110 chip for a reason; namely thousands of other people bought partially unlocked chips (i.e. the 780) and acted as testers for the 780 ti. It took over a year to release a stable version of a fully unlocked GK110 chip, and I suspect it will take about another year for Nvidia to do the same thing with a GM110 chip (or whatever they call the fastest Maxwell).

There will be versions of the card that are not fully unlocked to give Nvidia time to work on both chip and driver stability with the benefit of consumer feedback (e.g. RMAs). Benefit from all of that market research and stick with the 780 ti. Also, keep in mind that the card will always be one of the cards to hold the title of "fastest single processor GPU on earth." That will help increase its resale value later on, so you will be able to pay less for an upgrade when Nvidia does finally release a fully unlocked Maxwell flagship.
