Trying to generate some discussion with this review. A lot of people that recommend the FX-8xxx series reference the review done by Tek Syndicate and posted on Youtube around a year ago. So here's one that results in a strong recommendation for the 4670k.
To summarize his tests/conclusion, the quad core Intel solution wins in every single test he runs. Singleplayer games, multiplayer games, rendering, streaming, general usage, etc...The Intel beats the AMD by a mile in some, and by a little in others. But it straight out wins every time.
I found it particularly interesting that the reviewer concludes that the 4670k, which has only 4 cores as we know, beats the 8-core FX-8350 in streaming. Streaming and rendering are very often reasons stated by people recommending AMD FX CPU's, because of the higher physical core count. Apparently that's not the case.
Now of course, everyone has to decide what is right for their budget, and the AMD solution is probably going to be a decent amount less expensive. That argument has never been lost on me. This is specifically about what is better though. Even in applications that are heavily multi-threaded the quad core Intel is, according to his tests, better.
