Hey guys, so a day ago i was doing the usual on the computer, and for some reason decided to check my task manager and i saw that my memory usage was sky high, i instantly thought that i must be infected with some add/malware so i decided to reformat my computer.

Complete the process of getting back on and i look at my task manager after downloading skype and chrome and i see it's doing the same shit, i reformatted again but this time i completely formatted the hard drive, same problem.

Ill post some screenshots of my task manager and stuff so you guys can get some info, this is strange and is really bugging me because i still feel like im infected with something haha.
Thanks to anyone who spends the time to help me out :D

Solution
Close chrome and try again. Chrome opens up a bunch of processes when it starts, extensions take more, etc. IT does this to sandbox things so 1 tab or extension tries to stay contained and not allow hackers more access.

And skype has to manage video, audio, internet, etc. It probably does take up 90mb. Gone are days or programs using 1mb of ram and being happy.

Heres the thing, i don't have 20 chrome tabs open, i have 3, and when i start chrome and it just has the initial tab open, it shows like 4 different ones in my task manager, all taking high memory usage.

1 chrome browser open, and one tab up. Yet its taking that much memory? And idle skype is taking 90mb? something just doesn't add up really.

I feel like i got addware or some shit but it does not make sense because i've literally did a fresh install twice in the last 24 hours.

How much memory does chrome consume when you have only one tab opened? (Press Shift + Esc to check) How much extensions do you have and which one are they? (Type Chrome://extensions in another tab and press enter)
