So I am highschool student who likes to game, mostly Battlefield 4 and other first person shooters, and I need a new gaming computer. I have been advised to build my own PC, as it will offer the greatest gsming performance. But I like the idea of portable gaming while being able to use my computer at school for office applications. So what I'm wondering is if the new razerblade (2014) will give me the gaming power I need and if the 8 GB's of ram will be sufficient to last at least the next few years.

A few things to note:

if you get anything less than 512gb, you will have VERY little storage and only be able to store a few games as SSDs must remain 20% free space.

The screen is VERY high res (3200x1800) and because of this games are WAY harder to run. You will find yourself playing at medium settings at best or (more likely) lowering game resolution and only playing at 1080p to get high settings.

The CPU is super overkill and will WAY outlive the laptop's useable life. (this "i7 HQ" is a marketing scheme to make people think they are getting something great, but the computer would be better off with an i5 and a gtx880m GPU not the 870m)

If you HAVE to have a laptop and are willing to spend 2x the money of a desktop for the same price, I would not buy this. I would buy an MSI or ASUS ROG. Both of which cost less for better parts. They both can be had for under $2000 with a 1tb HDD + SSD, same i7 or better, and a gtx880m not an 870m.
